The cooking class takes place in the chef`s home. As this is a class for a small group of people, you can fully enjoy the lessons.  This class has a welcoming atmosphere so that you can casually attend the lessons by yourself.  Washoku Club provides cooking courses for Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi, Home-Cooking and Wagashi ( Japanese sweets).  All of these courses will take you to the amazing world of  Washoku!

Sashimi Course

Fee:   12000yen

Menu:   Specially-Selected Sashimi, Arajiru (fish soup), Rice

This course teaches a wide range of skills from the basics of using knives to visually picking out a good fish as eyeing it, as well as how to cut sashimi and how to arrange it.

 


Tempura Course

Fee:   8000yen

Menu:   Tempura made from seasonal ingredients, Rice and Miso Soup

There are several tricks to frying tempura well.  Let`s make some crunchy tempura.


Sushi Course

Fee:   8000yen

Menu:   Futomaki Sushi, Temari Sushi, Oshi Sushi, Dashimaki Tamago, Miso Soup

In this course you will learn how to make three types of sushi at home.  Of course, you will learn how to make sushi rice, so please use these skills when you return to your country.


Home-Cooking Course

Fee:   7000yen

Menu:    A basic arrangement of a Japanese meal (called "Ichiju-Sansai"), consisting of one kind of soup, one main dish and two side dishes

In this course you will learn how to make one of the essentials of household cooking-a soup with three dishes.  A feature of this is its superb nutritional balance.


Wagashi Course 

 

Fee:   7000yen

Menu:   Nerikiri (unbaked cake),  Matcha mousse (green tea mousse),  Kuzukiri (noodle made from arrowroot starch)

 

Wagashi are traditional Japanese sweets and it is not just delicious, you can also enjoy the season through their looks.  In this course you will learn how to make three types of Wagashi. 

 


 

  • Please reserve your place for the lesson 3 days in advance.
  • The Chef`s house is on the 4th floor of an apartment and there is no elevator in the building and it`s 15 minutes away on foot from the station.  This may be a concern for those who have problem with their knees or back as well as the elderly, and we hope you kindly take this into your consideration.
  • We provide transportation service between the nearest station to Chef`s house (additional service fee needed: 3000yen).
